Service Failure Simulator
A cocktail that only works under perfect conditions isn't a good cocktail — it's a liability. The chaos scenario engine stress-tests every recipe against the real conditions bartenders face: hot patios, wet ice bins, dishwasher-hot glassware, rushed shakes, and rail delays. The result is a backend-modeled master score for each run plus a five-run scenario resilience readout for the full stress set.
5 Calibrated Scenarios
Standard
baselineTextbook conditions. Room temperature environment, standard technique, no delays. The control scenario every recipe must pass first.
Proper Service
baselineHow it should be done. Chilled glassware, no wait time, fresh ice. The aspirational bar program. Rewards technique-sensitive cocktails.
Patio Rush
moderateSummer service on the patio. Hot ambient, slightly rushed shake, warm glassware, 45-second rail wait, wet bin ice, long sip time in the sun.
Saturday Night Weeds
hardDeep in the weeds. Short shake, glass straight from the dishwasher, 60-second rail delay while bartender catches up. Wet ice from an overworked bin.
Worst Case
extremeEverything goes wrong. Brutal heat, minimal shake, scorching glass, two-minute rail wait, wet ice, five-minute sip window. If it survives this, it survives anything.
Scenario Metrics
Master Score is the Daily Libations qualification score for the selected scenario. Forgiveness remains the backend's machine-ice / rushed-service subscore inside each scenario run. The page-level Scenario Resilience number is a severity-weighted average of those master scores across all five scenarios.
Auto-Tags
The scenario engine automatically tags recipes based on fixed master-score comparisons across the five-run set.
Scenario resilience stays at 80+ and every scenario still passes. These recipes stay intact under pressure.
Master score drops >15 pts between Standard and Saturday Night Weeds. Rushed shaking materially changes the drink.
Master score drops >15 pts between Proper Service and Patio Rush. Wet service conditions materially change the drink.
Master score drops >15 pts between Proper Service and Worst Case. Hot glassware materially changes the drink.
